Question by dc: Blackberry Tour keypad is locked and I can’t unlock it. Help!?
OK, so I have a Blackberry Tour with all the default settings, and the keypad locked while in my pocket and it won’t unlock. I’m pressing:
* and [send],
* then [send],
[alt] & [enter],
and nothing is working.
I’m getting the “Keypad is locked. Press the Lock button to unlock.”
Every site I’ve looked at says I have to press * and [Send], but that hasn’t worked. The only way I’ve done it successfully is by removing and reinserting the battery.
Does anyone have some tips?

If you look on the top left of the phone, there is a lock/unlock button. Press it once. Your phone is now unlocked.

Question by ceezed: I would like to buy a Blackberry 8900 in the UK and transfer it to a Canadian number later. Is that possible?
I’m in the UK for a couple of years and I need a phone. I would like to get a blackberry and then take it back to Canada with me, but am unsure if I can “unlock” it or whatever to use it back home.

Yes, you can easily get that phone unlocked and it shouldnt cost you anything more than $ 30, and thats MAX. You can get it unlocked and use it anywhere you would like, as long as you have a sim card to put into it in your area…
Good Luck
BTW, if you need help with unlock i can help you.

Question by Noura A: Can someone help me find a blackberry?
I need to get a blackberry that is official unlocked ” I can use it in Kuwait ” . It can either be bold or curve 8900. I need it to be in London or some where in the middle east without a plan. I heard there is a place that sell it in London or a website that ships to Kuwait for like 130KD which is like $ 448. Can someone give me a website that has it or the store’s name?

Question by orign8: Shopping for a P.D.A., what is meant when the seller states “unlocked”?
I’m with T-mobile and shopping for a P.D.A. What does “unlocked” mean? Also, what do you recommend, the Blackberry 8700 or the new t-mobile dash?

Answer by sadiemylady
I had the same question, and was told it means that you can buy the phone without worrying about it being dedicated to any particular carrier. I.e., it can be used by t-mobile, cingular, verizon, etc. users. You can buy it without having to extend your contract with your carrier. I don’t know anything about the t-mobile dash, but the Blackberry is great.

Question by Keiley: If a phone is “unlocked” what does it mean?
I have Verizon and really want the Blackberry Torch, which currently only works on AT&T’s network, but when i searched it on eBay one of the options was titled: Brand New RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 3G Unlocked AT&T, so I’m wondering if the “unlocked” means I can use it for Verizon? I know some phones are capable of that…

Answer by Sulli
Unlocked means that you can use it on any GSM carrier suck as At&t or T-mobile because they have Sim cards. however the 3g will not work on the Blackberry because they use different 3g bands. Due to Verizon being a CDMA Carrier, unfortunately you cannot use it on Verizon.

Question by go cubs go: What can a blackberry do that a normal phone cant?
I have an LG Vu, but i was thinking about buying a unlocked blackberry off ebay. It says its unlocked “just install sim card and go”
But is there a price difference in service? Now I have unlimited messaging and internet. Will that carry over into the blackberry or would i need a whole new plan?

Answer by Emel8
Check to see if your cell provider has different data plans just for Blackberry phones. If not, you will be fine and it will work as normal. Blackberry’s are great for email, browsing, and many other apps. I made the change and now I’m officially a Crackberry addict! If you do get one here’s some things that will help you customize it, good luck!

Question by justgottateach: How do you unlock an blackberry 8320?
I purchased the phone from an ebay store and received it today. It is for my carrier, so I don’t think it is the SIM lock that I’m dealing with. This is the device lock that stops you from using any of the keyboard functions, even without a SIM card in the phone. My daughter has set one on her phone so no one can access her information….she set it up herself. Is there a way to “unlock” it without the password?
Best answer:
Answer by Mike
If you don’t have or don’t remember the personal password that was set, you can reset your phone by entering the incorrect code 10 times. If you do this, it will erase all the information on the phone and will be back to factory condition.
